What is TOG and how do I choose the right one?Updated 2 months ago
TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) is a unit used to measure the thermal resistance (warmth) of a product. It's a simple way to understand how thick and warm your baby’s sleepwear is, helping to prevent overheating or waking up from being too cold.
In the children's textile industry, TOG is essential to determine whether a sleeping bag will keep your baby at the right temperature throughout the night. That’s why at molis&co we design our sleeping bags with different TOG levels, so they can adapt to each season and help maintain a consistent body temperature while your baby sleeps. The higher the TOG rating, the warmer the product; on the other hand, a lower TOG indicates a lighter fabric, ideal for warmer temperatures.
The choice of TOG depends on the ambient temperature of the room. Our TOG guide can help you find the perfect sleep bag:
SUMMER: TOG 0.4 and TOG 0.5 – for rooms above 24°C
MID-SEASON: TOG 1.0 – for rooms between 21–24°C
WINTER: TOG 2.5 – for rooms below 21°C
